Pregnant Women Needed……

Pregnant women to offer insights for asthma research

Asthma and allergies affect one in four children in New Zealand , but living on a farm may protect children against developing these conditions.

Our team is attempting to identify the factors in early life that protect children from developing asthma and allergies. We want pregnant women from both farming and non-farming backgrounds to help.

Can you help?

We invite you to participate in this ground breaking research. Your participation in this study will help us find out more about asthma and allergies with the aim of developing programmes to reduce childhood asthma and allergies in New Zealand . We are very keen to hear from you at any stage in your pregnancy. You do not have to have any allergies or asthma to take part.

What would your participation in the study involve?

In your last few weeks of pregnancy we will ask you to complete a questionnaire. Then we will follow your baby through the first 15 months by a series of questionnaires, a health diary, a home visit from a nurse, and some allergy tests.

Would you be interested in taking part in this study?
